The 'On the Road to Recovery' campaign is delighted to announce 'The Bike Rooms' as an official partner for their fast'approaching cycling challenge.
The Bike Rooms, which is host to some of the world's best cycling brands, will be providing iconic cycling apparel for the riders, as well as offering their highly sought after expertise in training and bike maintenance in the build up to the event.
The sponsorship is warmly welcomed by the team participating in the gruelling challenge, which will see them cover over 100km a day to complete a gruelling course that includes L'Alpe D'Huez and Mont Ventoux, two of the hardest legs of the Tour De France route. Managed by ex-pro and Team GB Olympian Margaret Herety, The Bike Rooms manageress spoke about their involvement with the charity ride, "We are always eager to get involved in the local community and to help raise awareness for local charities and we are delighted to be partnering with On the Road to Recovery and help raise funds for The Christie."
The On the Road to Recovery team is also pleased to announce the most recent addition to the group, Marcello Distefano, Managing Director of San Carlo restaurants, which will make the courageous team 11-strong in total.
Marcello said: "I'm really excited to be on board with the challenge. I'm hoping that my general fitness regime will stand me in relatively good stead, but joining at this stage will mean I'm behind in training. I'll be doing everything I can to bring myself up to speed in the coming weeks"
The running total raised so far for the campaign now stands at an impressive £112,512, but those involved are really striving for some significant donations in the last few weeks building up to the challenge.
